Treatment Programs
Evidence-based programs designed to challenge old patterns and build something better — because you deserve more than just getting by.
Medical Detox
Many people put off treatment because they dread withdrawal. At MTH Rehab, our medical detox program removes that barrier. Our physicians and nursing staff provide round-the-clock monitoring with medication-assisted treatment tailored to the substance and severity of dependence.
Unlike what you may have heard about detox being nothing more than suffering through withdrawal, our approach integrates nutritional support from day one. We replenish the vitamins, amino acids, and minerals that prolonged substance use depletes — helping stabilize mood and reduce cravings faster than medical intervention alone. Detox typically lasts 3 to 7 days before transitioning into residential or outpatient programming.
Residential Treatment
Our residential program runs 30 to 90 days across 68 private and semi-private beds. This is where the real transformation happens — not through lectures in fluorescent-lit rooms, but through daily structure that balances clinical therapy, physical activity, creative expression, and quiet reflection.
Each resident works with a primary therapist, a psychiatrist, and a nutritional counselor to build an individualized treatment plan rooted in strengths-based recovery. Group therapy sessions use CBT, trauma-focused CBT, and EMDR to address the patterns that keep addiction in place. Equine-assisted therapy offers a powerful nonverbal complement for patients who struggle with talk-based approaches.
Outpatient Program
Recovery does not end when you leave our facility. Our outpatient program lets you continue structured treatment while returning to work, school, or family responsibilities in the Petaluma area. Sessions run three to five days per week depending on your clinical needs and progress.
Outpatient programming at MTH Rehab includes individual counseling, group therapy, family therapy sessions, and ongoing psychiatric support. We maintain the same neuroscience-based, strengths-focused approach that defines our residential program — just adapted for life on the outside. Many patients step down from residential to outpatient as part of a continuous care plan lasting 2 to 12 weeks.
Dual Diagnosis
Many people think addiction is the whole problem. In reality, over 60% of individuals with substance use disorders also live with a co-occurring mental health condition — depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, or others. Treating one without the other is like patching half a leak.
MTH Rehab's dual diagnosis program addresses both conditions simultaneously with an integrated clinical team. Our psychiatrists and therapists coordinate medication management, trauma-focused CBT, EMDR, and individual counseling into a single cohesive plan. This is not two separate treatments running side by side — it is one unified approach that recognizes how deeply intertwined mental health and addiction truly are.
